> DOWNLOAD IF QUAKE

IF Quake is only a Z-Machine (z5) file, which means it's extremely small to download (smaller than a lot of images you'll find on web sites). So here it is, in ZIP (primarily for Windows), SIT (primarily for Mac) and TAR (primarily for *nix) formats:

Due to the heavy traffic on this server, these files are also available on FIleshack, although double check the version number before downloading from there, as it may be the previous (buggy) release.

But wait! You'll need one more thing in order to actually do anything with this z5 file. You'll need a Z-Machine interpreter. Luckily, there are interpreters available for every conceivable platform, from Amiga to Windows. Here's a full list, although if you just want to know my preferred programs of choice, that'd be WinFrotz for Windows and Zoom for Mac OS X. I also like PalmPilot Frotz for IF on the go. Here are download links for all of them:

Okay, once you've got both of those, just fire up your Z-Machine interpreter and open up the Quake.z5 file. And poof! You're fragging in text.

Once you're in the game, type HELP if you need more help.

IF Quake was written by jason bergman, and is in no way connected with id Software, Activision, Infocom, Atari, Ritual Entertainment, Intellivision, The Bit Boys (oy!), The Ramones, 3dfx, PalmOne, Sony, The Adventure Company, Apple, Microsoft, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Jim Henson or Playboy Enterprises. Just in case there was any doubt. Don't say we didn't make this abundantly clear.
